Join the mission to make the digital world safer.

About Team Cymru:

Team Cymru's mission is to save and improve human lives by helping public and private sector analysts track and take down cybercriminals, terrorists, and human traffickers around the world. We deliver unmatched visibility into global cyber threat activity and are a key intelligence source for leading cybersecurity and threat intelligence vendors.

Our Pure Signal platform gives enterprise security teams on-demand access to global internet traffic telemetry, providing clarity into what is happening across the internet with a level of visibility comparable to their own internal networks. This allows organizations to close detection gaps, accelerate incident response, and get ahead of critical, recurring threats.

Team Cymru is a fast-paced, distribution-focused, private equity backed company where your work directly supports a mission that protects millions worldwide.

Why This Role Matters:

As an Engineering Manager of DevOps, you are the person who keeps the backbone of one of the world's most powerful threat intelligence platforms running, scaling, and performing at the highest level. The infrastructure you own processes petabytes of network data and serves some of the most sophisticated security operations in the world.

By ensuring the platform stays reliable, scalable, and fast, you enable every engineer at Team Cymru to do their best work and every customer to get the intelligence they depend on, ultimately supporting Team Cymru's mission to make the digital world safer.

Position Summary:

We are hiring a Senior Manager of DevOps to lead our Infra/DevOps pillar. This person owns everything underneath the application layer, plus the cross-cutting capabilities that make engineers fast. The mandate is simple: keep the lights on and make engineers fast.

You will lead a team of 5 plus engineers across two functional areas, Developer Tooling covering Kubernetes platform, CI/CD, observability, and internal developer experience, and Core Hybrid Infrastructure covering cloud primarily AWS and on-prem bare metal, networking, security posture, capacity planning, and cost management. This role reports to the SVP of Engineering.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical fluency, strong people leadership instincts, and the ability to set strategy and execute in a hybrid cloud and on-prem environment. This role requires both operational discipline and forward-thinking infrastructure leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Reliability and Uptime Own high availability, fast and confident deploys, and predictable incident response across cloud and on-prem environments. Keep the platform performing at the level our customers and mission demand. Drive down risk by balancing operational requirements with technical depth.

Developer Experience Ensure engineers can ship without thinking about infrastructure. Build and maintain internal platforms, tooling, and self-service capabilities as first-class deliverables. Champion developer productivity initiatives including internal platforms, golden paths, and AI-assisted tooling.

Cloud and On-Prem Hybrid Execution Set the strategy for what runs where across our cloud-forward but meaningfully on-prem footprint. Execute migrations and modernizations with clarity, discipline, and measurable milestones. Maintain a clear, defended point of view on when cloud versus on-prem is the right answer.

Disaster Recovery Posture Own disaster recovery end to end including drill cadence, runbook quality, and cross-team readiness. Ensure the organization is prepared and validated at all times. Lead incident command and drive continuous improvement in response workflows.

Cost Predictability Keep cloud and infrastructure spend trending in the right direction with clear visibility into unit economics. Provide leadership with a defensible and transparent story on infrastructure costs against business growth.

Team Leadership Hire, coach, and grow a team of 5 plus DevOps and infrastructure engineers. Manage performance, build bench strength, and develop the on-call rotation and operational maturity needed to scale with the business. Foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong cloud expertise ideally AWS with hands-on production experience operating Kubernetes at scale. Experience operating hybrid environments cloud plus on-prem or bare metal with a clear point of view on when each is the right tool. Track record of building and leading high-functioning DevOps or infrastructure teams of 5 plus engineers. Strong incident command and reliability instincts with experience designing and executing DR strategies. Strong communicator across technical and executive audiences comfortable representing infrastructure tradeoffs to C-suite stakeholders. Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Education and Experience:

7 plus years of infrastructure or DevOps experience with 3 plus years managing engineering teams. Experience in security, threat intelligence, or other data-intensive domains strongly preferred.
Familiarity with high-throughput data infrastructure including Kafka, ClickHouse, and streaming pipelines processing millions of events per second.
GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, and observability stacks including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, and Jaeger strongly preferred.
Experience with FedRAMP, SOC 2, or other compliance regimes relevant to infrastructure operations a plus.
