We're is seeking a Customer Success Engineer based in Japan. This critical role blends the technical depth of a Solution Engineer with the post-sales relationship management and value realization of a Customer Success Manager. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our customers derive maximum value from our intelligence, from the first discovery session through operational integration and ongoing partnership. 

As a key member of the SE & CS team, you will work across technical and business stakeholders, guiding enterprise customers to understand, evaluate, integrate, operationalize, and expand the use of Team Cymru’s solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor, discovery expert, and operational champion. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical acumen, customer empathy, and a passion for cybersecurity and threat intelligence. 


Key Responsibilities: 

Customer Discovery & Solution Design 

● Lead discovery sessions to assess CTI maturity, technical environment, and business objectives 

● Identify threat intelligence gaps, pain points, and desired outcomes 

● Design simple, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs 

● Deliver technical workshops, solution demos, and strategic presentations 

Proof of Value & Technical Integration 

● Drive successful PoVs aligned to customer goals and ROI metrics 

● Ensure integration with SIEMs, SOARs, TIPs and detection pipelines 

● Provide technical enablement and guidance throughout implementation 

● Track technical KPIs and provide recommendations for continuous improvement 

Customer Success & Adoption 

● Own post-sales relationships with key accounts 

● Develop and track success plans and onboarding journeys 

● Monitor product usage, identify gaps, and remove adoption blockers 

● Facilitate QBRs and align on business value realization 

Retention, Expansion & Cross-functional Collaboration 

● Partner with Sales to support upsell opportunities through demonstrated customer value 

● Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Support to resolve issues and surface feedback 

● Contribute to product innovation by advocating for customer needs 

Qualifications & Experience 

● 4+ years in Cybersecurity, with at least 2+ years in CTI-related roles (e.g., SOC, Threat Analyst, Detection Engineering) 

● 3+ years in pre-sales engineering, technical account management, or customer success for enterprise software 

● Experience engaging with both technical and business stakeholders 

● Hands-on experience integrating threat intelligence with security tooling (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, TIP) 

Additional Skills

● Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, HTTP) 

● Experience with NetFlow/sFlow/IPFIX, detection engineering, and threat hunting 

● Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, intelligence lifecycle, and CTI operations 

● Basic scripting (e.g., Python or PowerShell) and API familiarity is a plus 

● Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) 

● Customer-first mindset with a proactive problem-solving attitude 

● Ability to lead cross-functional engagements 

● Comfortable managing multiple priorities across accounts 

Education and Certifications 

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field 

● Cybersecurity certifications such as GCTI, GCIA, CISSP, or vendor-specific credentials (preferred) 

Travel 

Regional travel within APAC and occasional global travel is required
